Listening to Slide’s new single ‘Laugh Some More’, you may assume that this band is from the UK with that classic British indie-rock brawl. While their influences like Oasis and Red Hot Chili Peppers may hail from the British Isles, Slide themselves come from somewhere a little further north - Sweden. Composed of Albin Skeppholm and Simon Werner, this pair present a hearty, rough-and-the-edges take on this much loved genre. It’s one part fist-pumping rhythm and homme-fatale vocals and other part melodic bursts and falsetto. It’s an impressive dynamism that reflects the unbalanced relationships we foster with things, people, places and activities that bring us a dopamine hit of joy. As the band explain: "It's about having an unhealthy relationship to everything that makes you happy and turning everything into a drug.
